(Socialization Enrichment and Educational Development Program for Young Adults).

PURPOSE AND GOALS OF THE PROGRAM

The primary purpose of the N.A.P.D.-S.E.E.D.-Y.A. Program is to provide a safe comfortable, stimulating environment where intellectually/developmentally delayed young adults can receive training, socialization skills as well as develop socially and educationally. The primary goal of the program is to encourage enrolled young adults to reach towards their potential in socialization skills and to enhance their educational skills through a wide variety of environmental experiences within the community.

The N.A.P.D.-S.E.E.D.Y.A. Program offers structured after-school activities to intellectual/ developmentally disabled young adults in various areas related to social training. It also provides supervised activities where young adults can interact appropriately with other young adults of varying backgrounds and ages. The S.E.E.D.Y.A. program encourages clients to develop socially and educationally through environmental experiences as well as educational opportunities provided by caring staff.

The SEED Young Adult program was developed to address the needs of young adults. The primary focus for this program is increased community awareness and interaction. The program provides students entering adulthood with appropriate recreation opportunities and teaches appropriate social interaction within our community.
